What Do Moms REALLY Want For Mother's Day?


In 1914 the United States Congress designated the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day, and required that the President proclaim the holiday every year shortly before its arrival.  While a Presidential Proclamation is nice, we know what moms REALLY want for Mother's Day this year. Napkins - in various colors

Plastic container with screw top lid
Flower seeds
Strainer/Collander
Wax paper
Cookie cutter - large enough to place your fingers in

Mother's Day Handprint Flower Pot


Moms love flowers, and what better way to show Mom how much you love her than with this wonderful homemade present for Mom on Mother's Day.  For the past couple years my kids have made these handprint flower pots for both of their Grandmothers on Mother's Day.

Materials:

  • Clay flower pot
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Pencil
  • Clear acrylic sealer in gloss or matte

Optional materials:

  • Potting Soil

Adoptable Pets Of The Week


Macaroni Kid Lake Mary is working with T.E.A.R.S of Seminole County to bring together families and loveable pets who need a good home.  Each week, we will present one cat and one dog that will be up for adoption and provide information on how they could become part of your family.  Remember, a pet is a serious commitment that the whole family needs to support and love.  Think carefully before deciding to open your home to one of these adorable animals.
